Kenyan firm plans big chilly chain facility in East Africa

A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service supplier Cold Solutions, says it’ll make investments USD 70 million to construct the largest cold chain facility in East Africa to address challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi would be the largest, most superior and efficient in the area. The chilly chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and multiple product ranges, from fresh fruit and vegetables, to prescribed drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen meals.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio firm of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a personal fairness fund suggested by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to permit companies to maintain track of products in real-time and facilitate transportation across East Africa by way of temperature-controlled trucks, either throughout the inner metropolis or to long-haul locations,” stated Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.
